Matchbox is a card game I invented and designed in order to make introductions and dates scene more easy, fun and light, instead of having the feeling of a dry, work interview-like meeting. The game purpose is to be played at bars and pubs, where most of the dates happen. For that I designed also branded drink coasters and lighters.
how to match
The game consists of 36 game cards which are 12 triplets,
divided by names.
Each triplet consists of cards with the same Illustration in different color combinations.
The purpose of the game is to gather triplets as much as possible.
Shuffle the cards and hand out 3 cards to each player. The rest becomes Deck of Cards (DOC).
Each player in his turn asks another player (by his choice) whether he has one of a triplet – one of the first player cards. The second player must answer sincerely.
If the second player answers negatively - the first player takes a card from the DOC and the turn goes to the next player. If the second player answers positively – the first player has one attempt to guess which of his missing cards exists in the second player hand.
For example - If the first player has one card of ‘nose fetish’, he will try to get the other two cards with ‘nose fetish’.
If he is right – he earns the guessed card and another turn.
If he is wrong – he takes a card from the DOC and the turn goes to the next player.
When one of the players collects all cards of the same triplet, he announces it on his turn, places the cards on the table facing up, and plays another turn.
When the DOC is empty, the game continues using only the players' cards.
The winner is the player collecting the most triplets.
